Ty Segall, the Los Angeles based singer-songwriter and producer has recently announced the upcoming release to a new covers album titled Fudge Sandwich, set to be sold on October 26 of 2017. Segall’s new project includes covers of songs by the likes of Amon Düül II, John Lennon, Sparks, War, Funkadelic, Rudimentary Peni, Grateful Dead, and the Spencer Davis Group among others.
The lead single of Fudge Sandwich is “I’m A Man,” Segall’s own cover of the original 1966 classic by the Spencer Davis Group. Taking the more funk-rock flair of the original and transforming it effortlessly into the stylized alternative tune with Segall’s modern touch, Segall leaves fans and new listeners high expectations for the other singles included in the album. A follow up to his most recent work, Freedom’s Goblin, which was released earlier this year, Ty Segall’s fans can expect Segall not to stray too far from his own unique garage-rock style in this new project.
The tracklist includes eleven songs (listed below). Listeners can get a taste of Fudge Sandwich with the “I’m A Man” cover, which has already been posted online, view it here.
2018 has been a huge year for Segall in terms of albums as, according to MXDWN, he has already put out one other album this year, and has already announced plans on putting out two more. In addition to Freedom’s Goblin, which was released in January, Segall has announced the release of an album from his band White Fence and the release of an album from his other band, GØGGS titled Pre Strike Sweep, which is set to be released September 28 of this year.
A multi-talented artist known for his knowledge of numerous instruments, a ten album solo career, and numerous side projects and collaborative albums with others, Segall continues to keep fans on their feet in his next steps.
