Bowlie Weekender may be one of the most difficult festivals to attend in terms of frequency, only having occurred two times in the past. The Belle & Sebastian curated festival was first held in 1998, setting the standard of an incredible DIY festival lineup.

2010 saw its resurrection as the Bowlie Weekender 2, which saw another absolutely incredible indie artist lineup. And now, 8 years since its last, the festival has once again been reincarnated. This past May, Belle & Sebastian announced the “Boaty Weekender,” a four-day Mediterranean cruise/festival that will take place between August 8 and August 12 next year, departing from Barcelona and heading all the way to Cagliari, Sardinia before circling back.

Other than the two unique performances from Belle & Sebastian (once a full-album run of Fold Your Hands Child, You Walk Like a Peasant), an intimate Q&A with the band, and various activities with the members, the full lineup for the event has finally been revealed.

The curated lineup as it stands now represents an eclectic amalgamation of indie/alternative rock and pop, with groups like Mogwai, Camera Obscura (who had also played in the Bowlie Weekender 2, and have now come back), Hinds, Django Django and Alvvays set to perform. Solo acts such as Kelly Lee Owens and Nilüfer Yanya are also sprinkled into the mix.

Each artist will be playing multiple sets across the cruise’s five stages (ranging from a cap of 200 to the full 2500 guests, so you’ll get the full gamut of concert-going experiences), as well as participate in “artist collaborations, insightful Q&As, storyteller and panel sessions, theme parties, group activities, and custom event merchandise,” according to a press release.

Pre-sale for the festival will begin September 14. Register for the pre-sale here.
