Who doesn’t want to reconnect with the alluring, yet dysfunctional couple from the 90’s? The love story between Courtney and Kurt…just like old times. Er, wait a minute – Kurt posing as a skeleton? tsk, tsk. We love him just the same…at least Courtney looks healthy and in love
The Melvins rich history in music stems back to 1983, where Buzz Osborne named the band after a supervisor at a Thriftway store where Osborne worked as a clerk. During the start of their career they played Cream and Hendrix cover songs. In 1986, they recorded their first full length album, Gluey Porch Treatments.
The band worked with Nirvana, Mudhoney and various others through the years. They were signed by many labels over the past few decades but the largest label to represent them may have been Atlantic records who distributed a best of compilation album of the group.
This artistic group has had a history of musical talent along with artistic creativity. On their 20th anniversary in 2004, they put out a book which included art work contributed by the group and friends of the band.
They released their new album, Pinkus Abortion Technician earlier this year – the 27th studio album. They followed it up with an aggressive touring schedule and released an epic show poster created by Cincinnati artist Brian Methe.
On the poster, you will see the skeleton of Cobain being embraced by Courtney Love. Her arms take on the form of tentacles, while a cash sign is stamped to Cobain’s skull.
