Radkey Shares New Guitar Driven Single “St. Elwood”

Rock N’ Roll family band, Radkey, just released a new song, “St. Elwood.” Radkey is a combination of three brothers, Isaiah, Solomon, and Dee. The brothers formed their band in 2010 and are managed by their dad, Matt.  The band’s name is play on words of their last name, Radke. They stuck a ‘y’ on the end and they created a pretty rad name for their band.

The song begins with soft, crooning oohs and a slight, moving bass guitar in the background. The song then picks up jumping right into the chorus. Reminiscent of the the beginning of the song but opposite of the bright guitar, tambourine, and drums, the lyrics read, “I’m bored,I’m bored right out of my mind/ Gotta get outta here.” To say the least, the band is complicated but in the best ways. Listen to the song below:

The song is about looking for direction, guidance, and a place to belong. That is clear from the lines in the song, “spacing out, space feels fine to me.” The young band is on the rise with their relatable lyrics and their youthful spirit.

Earlier in the summer, the band announced they would be touring in Fall 2018 with British punk rock band, The Damned. After this tour, the band will stay on the road and tour with Descendents and Jack White. The band has previously toured with Rise Against, The Joy Formidable, Touche Amore, and Against Me!
