King Dude is currently celebrating the release of his seventh album, Music To Make War To. In addition to this, there is a new music video for the song from the new album, “Good & Bad.”
TJ Cowgill, aka King Dude, has been making bewitching melodies and harmonies for the majority of his career. This most recent work brings war into conversation; war between states, countries, families and even internally. In order to get his message across, he uses intricate poetry and instrumentation.
“Good & Bad” is a duet that King Dude recently released. The track features Josephine Olivia from the dark wave group, Blacksage. The song draws the listener in with wavering horns and bluesy taps on the drum. The video begins with subtle, simple images of tattooed arms and empty glasses. The music video exudes sensuality in red and blue tones, smoky rooms and bathrooms. The video follows a man and a woman as they get ready for a night of good and bad on the city streets.
King Dude adds this album to his plethora of other musical works. In 2014, he released the album, Fear; in 2015, King Dude released the heart stringy ballads of Songs of Flesh and Blood– In The Key of Light and in 2016, King Dude’s work Sex made its debut.
