As if the summer co-headlining tour between Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie had not already had enough drama in the form of cancelations and arrests, Loudwire has reported that Manson had to cut his set short on Saturday night in Houston, Texas. Apparently, Manson was feeling ill during the performance and could not make it past his cover of the Eurythmics “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This),” as he collapsed and had to be taken off stage. He received medical attention and appears to be doing better now.
This is not the first time in recent memory that circumstances have caused Manson to cut a performance short, last year a stage prop fell on him during a concert in New York City which caused the show to be cut short and a series of tour dates to be postponed. There has been no word yet if Manson plans on canceling any dates on this tour, which would seem to suggest that he is feeling better and that the will continue to perform when the tour resumes.
25+ years into his career, Marilyn Manson still manages to stir up controversy, as his performance at last year’s Ozzfest Meets Knotfest showed. So far this year he has released cover version of the classic song “Cry Little Sister” from the Lost Boys soundtrack and shared the stage with X Japan at the Coachella Festival. Manson is continuing to tour in support of his latest album, Heaven Upside Down, which came out last year.
