Lucinda Williams is a country, folk singer-songwriter who has been on the music scene since the late 1980s. Over the course of this summer, Willims has been busy touring alongside Steve Earle & The Dukes, and Dwight Yoakam. This month marks the end of that tour. She recently re-recorded her 1992 album, Sweet Old World, adding additional four new songs to celebrate its 25th anniversary. Now, she is celebrating another album milestone.
Williams’ fifth studio album, Car Wheels On A Gravel Road, which was released in 1998, is turning 20 years old this year. To celebrate the album’s anniversary, Williams is planning on taking the critically acclaimed album on the road for an intimate 12-date, 10-city tour according to Brooklyn Vegan. During the upcoming tour, Williams is planning on doing two music sets, one with her performing Car Wheel in full and another set is her performing songs from her entire musical discography. Her longtime band, Buick 6, which features Butch Norton on the drums, David Sutton on the bass, and Stuart Mathis on the guitar, will join Williams throughout the dates.
The scheduled tour will begin in Collingsworth, New Jersey on November 2nd and continue on over the course of November. She will be making stops in cities such as Boston, Connecticut, Chicago, Toronto as well as a performance at the Beacon Theatre in New York City on November 7th. Tickets for these shows will be available to purchase this Thursday, August 23rd at 7 PM local time.
