Steve Perry of Journey Returns With Solo Track “No Erasin’” from New Album Traces out October 2018

Ever since Steve Perry left Journey twenty years ago, fans have been wondering if the legendary singer would ever put out new music again. Aside from a couple of guest appearances, Perry has kept a low profile since his departure from Journey, occasionally showing up at performing live, as he did a few years ago at an Eels concert. However, Perry has not been featured on a full-length album of any kind since Journey’s Trial by Fire record.

Well, that is about to change as Perry has announced that he will be releasing a new solo album, entitled Traces this October. Co-produced by Perry and Thom Flowers, Traces is expected to be a triumphant comeback from one of rock’s greatest vocalists. Perry has released the lead single for the record, “No Erasin’,” a bombastic blend of soaring vocals and anthemic rock. The simple and direct music video sees Perry and his backing band playing through the song in a studio setting.

While Journey had achieved moderate success, it was not until Perry joined the band in 1978 that the group became global mega-stars, releasing some of the most iconic songs of the era. Eventually, internal tensions tore the band apart 1987 until the classic lineup of the band got back together in 1998. After Perry left Journey, the band soldiered on and eventually enlisted Filipino singer Arnel Pineda, returning to their status as one of the top concert draws in the world, with the band’s current US co-headlining tour with Def Leppard, one of the biggest successes of the summer so far.
