Final Vans Warped Tour Comes to a Conclusion with Pennywise’s “Bro Hymn” as the Festival’s Last Song Ever

While Every Time I Die guitarist Jordan Buckley tried in vain to play the final note on the Vans Warped Tour, Pennywise ended up holding that distinction. In a story about Buckley’s attempt to extend his band’s set past the final notes of Pennywise’s, it was pointed out by The PRP that the latter band holds the distinction of playing the last song at the Vans Warped Tour in West Palm Beach, FL.

That song was “Bro Hymn,” the quintessential Southern California skate punk song that hearkens back to the tour’s early days as a traveling Mecca of Epitaph and Fat Wreck Chords style punk bands. While the festival has matured and brought on more scene bands, metal bands and various other alternative genres, it’s nice that the last sounds to ring out at the festival were the chanted “oooohs” of “Bro Hymn.” Founder Kevin Lyman even got in on the action, joining the sing-along.
