Anna Calvi Shares Title Track From Her Third Album “Hunter”

English singer-songwriter Anna Calvi delves into herself to find her sound in her newest music video. Calvi just released the visual for her single, Hunter, from her new album due on August 31st.

In red tones, the song begins with breathy vocals. The video is simple, a close up on a woman’s collarbone as she is breathing shallow. Calvi begins to sing. She pushes the boundary with this intimate, subtle and sensual visual. The alternative rock and indie pop world won’t be the same. Watch the visual video below:

Hunter, the song and the album as well, is about the female awakening. In this song, Calvi begins to understand, take pleasure, and make a home in queer spaces and the LGBTQ community. Calvi said, this track is about “exploring a more subversive sexuality, which goes further than what is expected of a woman in our patriarchal heteronormative society.”

This album, inspired by the word and the meaning of the word, Hunter, has taken a more primal stance as Calvi explores and pushes the limits of her voice and her instrumental skill. This album is an example of exactly what it means to let go, hunt for freedom, explore identity and sexuality, and be who you are.
