Machine Head, the metal band wreaking havoc in San Francisco, has just released a new video for the song, “Volatile.” This track is the first track on their upcoming album, Catharsis, made available in January.
This track’s lyrics are critical of the social, political and economic state of affairs in American. This song’s lyrics were dedicated to Heather D. Heyer, the woman who lost her life in Charlottesville, VA in August 2017 during a protest against neo-nazism and white supremacy. Machine Head frontman said, “the lyrics were written on the same day as Charlotte.” This event was a major part of their previous album. Their response to this anger and rage and violence was a song that portrayed all of those things.
The video in black and white is behind the scenes and live tour footage from the UK. Just like a light switch, the music brings the color to life. The music video is blue, yellow, white, bright pink from the strobe lights on stage. The video features fans going crazy, head-banging and mosh-pitting. The video is pure chaos- which is most likely just what they wanted. Check out the video below:
The band has also just announced the second leg of their North American tour in support of Catharsis.
