American singer-songwriter/multi- instrumentalist, Ty Segall, has just announced the release of another new album, this time with his band the GØGGS. Pre Strike Sweep is the third album Segal has released this year. In May, Segall announced the release of a new album from his band, White Fence and solo album titled Freedom’s Goblin came out in January.
According to Pitchfork, the new album Pre Strike Sweep, is set to release September 28 via In the Red and features Segall on guitar. Along with the announcement, GØGGS have premiered a new single off the album. The song is fast paced with scorching distorted guitars and a tempo change mid song. Listen below.
In addition to the GØGGS and White Fence, Segall has made albums with Fuzz, and the Ty Segall Band as well as, numerous solo albums. Since 2012 Segall has made a total of thirteen albums. They are as follows: Hair (2012) and Joy (2018) with White Fence and Fuzz (2013) and II (2015) with the band Fuzz. Segall’s solo albums include Twins (2012), Sleeper (2013), Manipulator (2014), Emotional Mugger (2016), Ty Segall (2017) and Freedom’s Goblin (2018). He has also released Slaughterhouse (2012) with the Ty Segall Band and GØGGS (2016) and now his newest, Pre Strike Sweep (2018) with GØGGS.
