Metal Allegiance will release their new album September 7th via Nuclear Blast. Three years have passed since they released their self-titled debut album that included contributions from Philip H. Anselmo, Chuck Billy and more. Along with the recent album announcement, Metal Allegiance have premiered the video for the second single, “Voodoo Of The Godsend.” Listen to the single below.
Metal Allegiance began as a celebration of heavy metal, inspired by the desire to unite some of rock’s most revered musicians. Originators Mark Menghi, Mike Portnoy, Alex Skolnick, and David Ellefson are joined by a group of gifted musicians to create their sophomore album Volume II – Power Drunk Majesty. The thrash worshiping album merges old-school legends with the modern metal gods of the scene to produce groove driven, adrenaline-soaked anthems while tackling the frustrating state of the world.
Musicians on Volume II include Trevor Strnad (The Black Dahlia Murder), John Bush (Armored Saint), Bobby “Blitz” Ellswork (Overkill), Mark Tornillo (Accept), Nita Strauss (Alice Cooper), Max Cavalera (Soulfly). Joe Satriani, Floor Jansen (Nightwish) and Johan Hegg (Amon Amarth). It also marks the return of Mark Osegueda (Death Angel), Andreas Kisser (Sepultura) and Troy Sanders (Mastadon). The band has announced a special release show in celebration of the album release. Presented by Revolver, the show is scheduled for September 6th at The Gramercy in New York with an all-star lineup. Featuring the original four: Menghi, Skolnick, Ellefson and Portnoy, as well as Mark Osegueda, Andreas Kisser, John Bush and Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth. Also joining the celebration are Trevor Strnad and Mark Tornillo who are making their Metal Allegiance debut on Volume II.
