The Smashing Pumpkins are pulling out all of the stops for their upcoming show. The Grammy Award-winning band have announced a numerous amount of special guests in celebration of their 30th-anniversary show, set to take place August 2nd at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ. The list of guests includes AFI’s Davey Havok, Joy Division and New Order bassist Peter Hook, Killers members Dave Keuning and Mark Stoermer, Courtney Love, Mark McGrath, and Deftones frontman Chino Moreno. The guests will join the band throughout their performance that night. In a press release, the special show will feature a career-spanning setlist, covers, never before seen production, and even more surprises. Canadian rock band Metric will open the show. The band recently kicked off their Shiny and Oh So Bright North American Tour in Glendale, AZ, where the band covered David Bowie’s “Space Oddity,” and the Led Zepplin classic “Stairway to Heaven.” The show was also praised by critics, with Loudw ire calling it “an uplifting spectacle” and the Arizona Republic saying it was a “triumphant performance.” Check out the rest of the tour dates below. It is the group’s first tour in nearly 20 years.
Announced special guest Chino Moreno and his band Deftones also announced a special show recently. The band announced their new inaugural music festival, “Dia de Los Deftones Festival.” The one- day festival will take place November 3rd at Petco Park at The Park in San Diego, CA. The group will headline, with Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park, Future, Rocket from the Crypt, H09909, Doja Cat, Voww and Vein set to perform as well.
