Joywave and Sir Sly @ Warsaw 10/20

This October, the newly announced “Joywave and Sir Sly Present: An Evening With Sir Sly and Joywave” hits Brooklyn’s Warsaw venue featuring – you guessed it – a co-headlining tour with Joywave and Sir Sly. The tour runs through October and November, with more information found at the poignant URL slywave.com.

Joywave is a four-piece that hails from Rochester, New York. They first broke onto the scene when their single with Big Data, “Dangerous,” hit number one on Billboard’s Top Alternative Songs Chart in 2014. They went on to release their debut album, How Do You Feel Now?, in 2015 with hits like “Tongues” and “Destruction.” Joywave has opened for major acts like The Killers, Young the Giant, and Thirty Seconds to Mars in addition to sets at festivals including Lollapalooza and Osheaga. Most recently, Joywave has released two new singles, “Compromise” and “Blastoffff,” the latter of which was featured in a recent Fortnite trailer.

The Los Angeles trio, Sir Sly, similarly broke out on the scene with their 2017 hit single “High” which held the number 2 spot on Sirius XM’s Alt Countdown for three weeks and remained on the list for 19 weeks. Preceding “High” was their single “You Haunt Me” which hit number 3 on Sirius XM’s Alt Countdown from their debut album titled after the single in 2014. Three years later, the band released their sophomore album, Don’t You Worry, Honey, citing a more slowed down, concentrated approach to the album’s creation. With their third album in the works, the band has been writing and working whenever they can while energized on the road, telling Billboard, “We want people to be able to listen to it and get the energy that we’re trying to put into the songs.”

It’s hard to imagine a more appropriate co-headlining pairing than Joywave and Sir Sly. With their similar sounds and energies, it’s sure to be a show that’ll have you on your feet and dancing the entire night.
