Steve Harris of Iron Maiden Reveals There’s a Good Chance Iron Maiden Will Make New Album

Loudwire has reported that Iron Maiden bassist Steve Harris has confirmed that the legendary metal group will be making a new album at some point in the future. When asked about the possibility of recording a new album, Harris responded emphatically, though he also noted that the group would not be able to tour and record forever. However, for the time being, fans can take solace in the fact that there will be a follow up to 2015’s epic double album The Book of Souls.

Iron Maiden are currently rampaging through Europe on the “Legacy of the Beast” tour, which sees the band performing a slew of classics from their entire discography with some of the biggest stage productions ever attempted, including a replica of the legendary RAF Supermarine Spitfire Mk Vb fighter plane. The concerts have been generating favorable reviews and as usual, have been one of the hottest tickets on the market, especially considering the great lengths Iron Maiden goes to when it comes to fighting ticket scalpers.

For nearly 40 years, Iron Maiden has been one of the biggest bands on the planet, creating some of the most memorable music in the history of heavy metal and developing one of the most devoted fanbases out there, along with a merchandising empire that would put just about every other musical artist to shame. In recent years the band has been alternating their touring cycles: focusing on new material for one tour and classic material for the next one.

Unfortunately, the band has been in the news recently for something else: a protracted and ugly legal battle over copyright infringement that resulted in a settlement with members of the band Beckett, who claimed Steve Harris and Dave Murray stole lyrics from a Beckett song “Life’s a Shadow.”
