Karly-Marina Loaiza, also known as Kali Uchis, has acquired great acclaim over the past five years. Her first mixtape Drunken Babble was a multi-genre project that featured doo-wop, reggae, and r&b sounds. Although Kali Uchis was gaining popularity the first two years of her career, it wasn’t until her debut EP that her musical course really took off. The Por Vida EP featured several talented artists including Diplo, Tyler The Creator, Kaytranada, and BadBadNotGood. This was also the beginning of the many memorable collaborations that the singer was set to have. Various singers, almost all at the same points of their careers, worked with Kali Uchis creating some of the best songs of the decade. Jorja Smith’s feature on Tyrant and Daniel Cesar’s Get You are the tracks I was referring to in case you were wondering. Her recent album Isolation was an immediate hit all around the world, which led to her In Your Dreams 2018 tour.
Opening up for Kali Uchis will be Gabriel Garzón-Montano, who is commonly known for his song 6 8. This track was sampled in Drake’s Jungle from the If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late mixtape, which went double platinum and was later nominated for a grammy. It’s evident that both Uchis and Montano are talented individuals that have already had great accomplishments in their careers. Be sure to catch these talented Latin artists for a night full of unforgettable hits.
