Last weekend, in Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, Lzzy Hale of Halestorm joined Smashing Pumpkins in their cover of Led Zeppelin’s classic “Stairway to Heaven,” Consequence of Sound reports.
Smashing Pumpkins recently kicked off their “Shiny and So Bright” tour featuring reunion between members James Iha, Jimmy Chamberlin and Billy Corgan. The tour suffers the notable absence of former bassist D’arcy Wretzky who recently spoke about Corgan, saying he was “insufferable” and she was purposely excluded from the reunion.
Smashing Pumpkins have covered “Stairway to Heaven” as well as David Bowie’s “Space Oddity” in recent performances. The band continues their tour with upcoming performances July 24 in Miami, FL, July 27 in Baltimore, MD and July 31 in Boston, MA. The ambitious run continues through September with their final show set for September 7 in Boise, ID.
Halestorm are gearing up for the release of their fourth studio album, Vicious, scheduled to drop July 27. The band also embark on their tour July 27 in Independence, MO, and have recently added dates, Blabbermouth reports, starting November 16 in Norfolk, VA.
Hale says of the new stops, “You asked for it, and now you’re gonna get it. I’m so excited to announce the third leg with my empowering, beautifully Vicious women! Three tours and we don’t show any signs of slowing! We are joined by our friends in In This Moment and New Years Day starting in November! Get your tickets now because you don’t want to miss this!”
