Electronic music act The Crystal Method has announced their new album The Trip Home set to be released September 28th via Tiny E Records. It is the acts sixth full-length studio album and what started out as a duo in the 90’s is now a solo act, with Scott Kirkland at the forefront. Since Kirkland rebooted The Crystal Method, it is now being considered a live act. In a press release, Kirkland states that the new album “refers to my long journey: all the places where I’ve been able to go, and the experiences that come with that”,” says Kirkland. “It’s the journey back to all the things that got me here-the touring, the music, the fans that keep me here. But there’s always home. At the end of it, I go home to my family, I go home my studio, and then I go back out. It’s a circle. I have tried to capture all this in an album.” The lead single, “Holy Arp” will be available July 27th.
In light of the album’s release, Kirkland will play a special show in Las Vegas, NV on September 28th, while on “The Trip Home Tour” in support of the album. The tour kicked off this past weekend in New Orleans at the Sugar Mill and will hit other major cities in North America including Houston, Brooklyn, and San Francisco before concluding December 15th in Louisville, KY.
