Primus Announce Final North American Goblin Tour Dates

Primus recently concluded an ambitious co-headlining tour with Mastodon, and have already announced three more weeks of headlining dates this fall in support of The Desaturating Seven, Consequence of Sound reports.

The tour begins September 9 in Riverside, California and runs through October 8 in Denver, Colorado. Frontman Les Claypool says of the upcoming dates: “Hey all you Primates out there. So, due to popular demand and the fact that such a spectacular time on this latest summer tour was had, we’ve decided to extend our short fall run into three glorious Goblin filled weeks of Primus.”

He goes on to say, “If you haven’t seen it yet or want to catch it one last time, now’s your chance to get your ‘gob on.’ We might even slip a little Nutbutter onto your Glass Sandwich as we all ride the Hamburger Train to Kalamazoo…well maybe. And, don’t forget, dress like your favorite Goblin or Primus character and win a prize. (We are thinking jars of Pickled Ler Underpants but we’ve yet to work that out).”

Desaturating Seven is the band’s ninth studio album and was inspired by the 1978 children’s book, The Rainbow Goblins, by Italian author Ul de Rico. Claypool says of their latest record: “There’s a beauty but also a dark eeriness for this compelling, sinister story. The paintings are incredible, vibrant, very unique looking-it’s a good contrast between dark and light visually and also metaphorically. And there’s always been a strong visual element to Primus.”
