Tokyo Police Club Announces New Album TPC for October 2018 Release

Tokyo Police Club are releasing their first album since 2014s Forcefield. The new album, titled TPC is set for release on October 5th via Dine Alone Records.

The indie rockers from Canada, formed the band in 2005 and TPC is their 5th studio album. According to Consequence Of Sound, the album nearly didn’t come to fruition. After making Forcefield, band members went their separate ways. The band considered breaking up as their personal lives and solo projects made working together a challenge. But vocalist/bassist Dave Monks became the glue that held the band together as he refused to consider a break up.

Monks said, “Let’s make it about being present for the moments that are important more than about being devoted to some rock stardom fantasy. We at least gotta go make Abbey Road first and go out with a bang. You don’t have to give me five records. Just give me a few more rehearsals and some studio time and then we’ll figure it out.”

The band released the song “New Blues” earlier this year on flexi disc for Record Store Day. Their new 12-track LP was written in a church in Ontario and recorded in Los Angeles. Listen to the track “Hercules” below.
