Vocalist Maria Brink and guitarist Chris Howorth, founding members of In This Moment, have recorded their new song “The Calling” for the Dark Nights: Metal Deluxe Edition soundtrack, you can listen to it below.
“Being asked to be a part of this is a dream come true.” said Brink. “Ever since Chris and I started working together in In This Moment, we’ve fantasized about working on things like this. We are HUGE comic book/sci-fi/fantasy nerds and love everything about the DC universe. It was such an honor to work with Tyler Bates and Mike Elizondo and to be associated with something so iconic! We Hope everyone enjoys the song as much as we do!”
The series, written by Scott Snyder and drawn by Greg Capullo, centers around Batman and a dark multiverse within the DC Universe. The deluxe hardcover collects issues #1-6 of the Dark Nights: Metal Deluxe Edition series. Previously released tracks from the collection include “Red Death” by Brann Dailor of Mastadon and “Brief Exchange” by Chino Moreno of the Deftones. The soundtrack also includes “Fact Check” by Jason Aalon Butler.
Dark Nights: Metal Deluxe Edition is available digitally and at bookstores and comic book retailers.
In This Moment’s latest album, Ritual, dropped in July of 2017. The critically acclaimed album contained the hit single “Roots” and “Black Wedding” with Rob Halford of Judas Priest appearing in the video for the later.
