Toro y Moi, aka Chaz Bear, has announced plans for a tour this fall. The Outer Peace Tour is set to begin August 3 in Montreal, Quebec and conclude November 17 in Columbia, South Carolina.
Chaz Bear was born in Columbia, South Carolina in 1986 and has previously released five studio albums including Causes of This (2010), Underneath the Pine (2011), Anything in Return (2013), What For? (2015) and Boo Boo (2017).
The Outer Peace Tour is the group’s first U.S. tour since 2015 and will be their first opportunity to play songs from Boo Boo. The album was released to critical acclaim with Rolling Stone saying, “As much as Bundick has switched his style up over the years, there’s something comforting and familiar about Boo Boo. The whole thing is a sunny, contemplative drift, like Angelo Badalamenti’s Twin Peaks theme remade as minimal dance-pop… Might just be the best Toro Y Moi album yet.”
Toro y Moi has recently been collaborating with Los Angeles producer Nosaj Thing on a project titled Laff Trax. Pitchfork reports the duo will make their live debut at Montreal’s Osheaga Festival in August. According to the itinerary, the duo will also perform together in Long Island City, Brooklyn, Los Angeles and Oakland.
Chaz Bear is currently working on his new Toro y Moi record, which will drop in 2019. Check out a list of fall tour dates below.
