Prophets of Rage Preview Second Album with New Song “Heart Afire”

Prophets of Rage have released a new single “Heart Afire” from their forthcoming album which is expected to be dropped at some point this year. The album will be the supergroup’s second album and is highly anticipated by many in the music community. Bassist Tim Commerford stated that a release date for the band’s sophomore release is still in question along with many other details, but he did confirm the album will be loaded with 13 songs.

The group is of course made up of legendary band members including Commerford, Tom Morello, and Brad Wilk of Rage Against the Machine; along with Public Enemy members Chuck D and DJ Lord and B-Real of Cypress Hill. Morello said in 2016 when the band formed, “We’re an elite task force of revolutionary musicians determined to confront this mountain of election year bullshit, and confront it head-on with Marshall stacks blazing.”

The band released their debut record in 2017 called Prophets of Rage via Fantasy Records with the first single “Unfuck the World” which was a much needed response to the 2016 presidential election. Their name is derived from a song on the classic 1988 Public Enemy album It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back.

The band will be joining Avenged Sevenfold’s End of the World tour which runs through the beginning of September hitting cities such as Toronto, Denver, Las Vegas, Dallas, Phoenix and Cincinnati. The band also just released a video for their pro-marijuana legalization song “Legalize Me” at the beginning of the month.
