The Nels Cline 4 Announces Summer 2018 Tour Dates

Accomplished guitarist Nels Cline has announced summer tour dates with his new band The Nels Cline 4. Cline is known for being the lead guitarist of the band Wilco since 2004 and is widely considered as one of the greatest guitarists in the world of music today. Cline’s impressive talents, new band and their tour will hit cities such as Louisville, St. Louis and Milwaukee.

Cline is currently touring on his recent release Currents, Constellations which is his debut with his new band and it was released on Blue Note Records. The album features a collaboration with fellow guitarist Julian Lage, bassist Scott Colley and drummer Tom Rainey. Cline’s new album is following the release and success of 2016s Lovers which was his Blue Note debut.

“I brought in a few themes and we just kind of went for it. Everyone was enthusiastic about continuing the work,” said Cline of collaborating with his fellow perfectionists. Cline started in the 1980’s as a prominent jazz player and has explored every sound the guitar can make ever since gaining respect all over the world.

The New York Times said of Cline, “Mr. Cline is an irrepressible improviser, with straightforwardly dazzling guitar chops. And in the Nels Cline 4, a new band that’s just released its debut album, “Currents, Constellations, his sterling fretwork is the big attraction.”

The LA Times said, “Cline gives his rich knowledge and experience with jazz room to roam on his second album with Blue Note Records, an often transfixing listen that spans tangled, contemplative ballads and barbed jazz-funk.”
