Ben Weinman, former guitarist for The Dillinger Escape Plan, will be returning to music with Suicidal Tendencies, The PRP reports. Weinman plans to fill in on rhythm guitar during live shows following the announcement Jeff Pogan is leaving the band.
Pogan, who has been a member of the band since 2016, posted to his Instagram account regarding the departure, saying he left Suicidal Tendencies “a little over a month ago” and has “since been touring with Avenged Sevenfold as guitar tech. “
Weinman retired from The Dillinger Escape Plan in late 2017, when the group dissolved to pursue other projects following the release of Dissociative and a final round of touring.
Loudwire reports the eight-day Suicidal Tendencies run kicks off July 15 in Mansfield, OH at the Inkcarceration Festival and concludes July 27 in Montreal, QC.
The band recently tweeted, “SxTx is getting ready to take off for the July tour dates. Speaking of flying, we’re extremely honored and SToked to have the insane Ben Weinman playing guitar for us on these shows. Hope you are ready for this! Thanks for the support and SEE YOU IN THE PIT!”
Weinman tweeted about his upcoming shows with the crossover thrash pioneers, saying he is “really excited to be playing shows with one of my childhood favorites.”
