Rob Garza Shares Pulsating New Single “Velvet Coffin”

Co-founder of electronic music duo, Thievery Corporation, has released the third single off his upcoming EP Dissolve. This new four-track EP released on Armada Music, is Garza’s 2nd solo release

According to a press release, Garza describes “Velvet Coffin” as a “dark and foreboding track with pulsing sub-bass and watery percussion that journeys the listener through a shadowy intoxicated subterranean underworld.” Listen to “Velvet Coffin” below.

Magnetic Magazine said, “Garza does what he does best on “Velvet Coffin”.”

In May, Garza released “Your Calling” another single off the new EP, described as “uplifting” and colorful, the song presents a sharp contrast to the darkness of “Velvet Coffin.”

Garza has used his unique perspective and musical expression to connect with audiences for over 20 years. As a solo artist, he has developed a signature sound that mixes House and Nu-Disco with other cultural influences he’s experienced while traveling the world. According to his website, in 2015 Garza created his own record label called Moon Records subsequently releasing his first EP as a solo artist that same year.

In April of this year Thievery Corporation released the album Treasures from the Temple. A companion album to their 2017 LP Temple of I & I. Treasures from the Temple includes new and remixed music with vocal appearances from several guest artists. During their career, the duo has collaborated with many high-profile artists including Perry Farrell, The Flaming Lips, David Byrne and more. Since they began in 1996, Thievery Corporation has released numerous LP’s and had the opportunity to perform at major music festivals including Coachella and Lollapalooza.

Rob Garza’s new EP, Dissolve, is scheduled for release on July 27.
