Silk City, the new collaborative project from Diplo and Mark Ronson, is in full swing. Altough, Diplo and Ronson have been friends for a while, this is the first time that they have collaborated together.
The duo have just released their first single, “Only Can Get Better” featuring Daniel Merriweather. Their music is sure to make waves on the radio waves. The duo made their first appearance at this months Governor’s Ball in New York and they plan to headline the U.K’s Bestival in August.
The video is a series of moving images, blurry and bright. The scenes flash across the screen of people having a good time, music posters, cars driving through the city, and bright neon lights.
The music video cuts in between images. Directed by Dan Streit and Lindsey Nico Mann, Silk City’s “Only Can Get Better” gives off the image and sound of being silky, young, and vibrant. The video even features some footage of Silk City in the studio working on this song and most likely a bunch of others soon to be released. The music video also features clips of Ronson and Diplo playing shows and the crowds getting wild.
The word for this video is positivity as the lyrics repeat, “only can get better,” signaling to anyone who watches that whatever situation they are in, it can only get better. Take a look below:
