Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals was scheduled to go on a U.S tour with King Parrot in the Spring, but the trek was postponed to allow Anselmo more time to recover from recent back surgery. Now, according to The PRP, it appears they have rescheduled the tour and will hit the road this Fall.
In a press release, Anselmo had this to say regarding the decision to postpone the tour; “As many of you know, I had a second back surgery in late January. I’m having an incredible recovery, but just want to be one-thousand percent when I get to jam the new Illegals with all my brothers and sisters. My apologies for jumping the gun extend to the fans, my fellow Illegals, King Parrot, our crews, and all mechanical parties involved, but we will all see it’s the right decision soon. See you cats and chicks in the fall! Much love, as always.”
The new dates will begin September 6th in New Orleans and will continue over three weeks until they wrap up on September 30th in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Some stops along the way include New Orleans, Brooklyn, Houston, Rochester, and Dallas to name a few. The Austrailian grindcore band, King Parrot will come back for the new shows. They are currently supporting their latest album release, Ugly Produce, which came out last year.
The Illegals second full-length album entitled, Choosing Mental Illness As A Virtue arrived in stores earlier this year via Anselmo’s own Housecore Records.
