Fans of metal band As I Lay Dying are in for a treat. The band has officially released a new video for their song “My Own Grave” Over the past year, rumors were swirling that the band would be getting back together with its original lineup. A short clip of the new video was posted last year, teasing fans of the reunion. The original lineup includes Tim Lambesis on lead vocals, Jordan Mancino on drums, Phil Sgrosso on rhythm guitar and backing vocals, Nick Hipa on lead guitar and backing vocals, and Josh Gilbert on bass and clean vocals.

In the new video, the band showcases what they do best, rocking out and having a good time doing it.

This marks the first new release from the band since their sixth album Awakened, released in 2012. Lead singer Tim Lambesis was recently released from prison after pleading guilty to hiring hitman disguised as a police officer to kill his wife. He was arrested in 2013 for the facilitation of the murder and was originally sentenced to six years after serving two years.

Lambesis fellow band members in the meantime formed a new band with a different singer called Wovenwear. The band released their self-titled debut album in 2014, with another album shortly after titled Honor Is Dead. They went on tour with Black Label Society. Lambesis released the news without the group’s consent, given that he was in charge of the As I Lay Dying website. Since then, the band has set their differences aside.

According to Blabbermouth, the band will play their first comeback show June 16th in San Diego, CA at the Soma Sidestage. no word yet on any more releases from the band in the future, but it looks like they are off to a great start coming back into the spotlight.
