Shredders Are in Rare Company Admitting They “Might Be Wrong” on New Song “Calm/Sane”

Fusion rap group Shredders have released the poetic video for their new song “Calm/Sane.” The group includes members Lazerbeak, P.O.S, Sims and Paper Tiger.

The video makes the song’s textual content center stage by juxtaposing the lyrics, which are showcased using varying fonts, with unique animation and a fluctuating color scheme.

“I might be wrong, confidence reigns/Confidence wins, calm and sane/Keep it calm and sane/Calm and sane.

Members of Shredders are also in the hip-hop collective Doomtree, formed in 2001 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and includes artists Dessa, Cecil Otter, P.O.S, Sims, Mike Mictlan, Paper Tiger and Lazerbeak.

When Shredders formed, Lazerbeak released a statement assuring fans Doomtree would continue to release music, saying, “The arrival of Shredders does not mean the demise of Doomtree in any way, shape, or form. We all agreed to take a crew hiatus at the end of the All Hands touring cycle to focus more on solo work for a bit, which is why the last eight months have seen the release of Sims’ More Than Ever, P.O.S’ Chill, dummy, and Paper Tiger’s In Other Words albums. I executive produced all three and so we decided to keep the momentum going and bang out some more legendary heaters this year. Thus, Shredders was born.”
