Guns N Roses, also known as GNR, is an American rock band formed in 1985. The original lineup for GNR was Axl Rose for lead vocals, Alash for lead guitar, Izzy Stradlin for rhythm guitar, Duff McKagan for bass and Steven Adler for drums. GNR was first signed to Geffen Records in 1986 with the original band lineup. Appetite for Destruction, Guns N Roses’ debut album, was released in 1987 and reached number one on Billboard’s 200 in 1988.
The band’s single “Sweet Child O’ Mine” was the band’s only single to reach number one on Billboard’s Hot 100. The band’s second album G N’ R Lies was released in 1988 and reached number two on the Billboard 200. Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II, released in 1991 debuted as number two and number one on Billboard 200. The Spaghetti Incident?, the band’s cover album released in 1993, was the last studio album to feature Slash and McKagan.
