American heavy metal band Bad Wolves will continue to ride the momentum of their gold selling cover of The Cranberries classic song “Zombie,” by releasing a new acoustic version of the cover. The single has achieved gold status in the United States, Australia and Canada and the song enter the Billboard Hot 100 at number 54.
The song was originally going to feature Cranberries frontwoman Dolores O’ Riordan but the singer passed away before completing the collaboration. The band have donated proceeds from the song to O’ Riordan’s late children.
The band formed as a supergroup in 2017 featuring former Divine Heresy and Snot vocalist Tommy Vext, John Boecklin formerly of Devildriver, guitarist Doc Coyle from God Forbid, guitarist Chris Cain formerly of Bury Your Dead, and bassist Kyle Konkiel formerly of In This Moment. The band released their debut album Disobey on May 11 with lead single “Learn to Live,” followed with “Toast to the Ghost” and then their third single released was “Zombie.”
They are currently on tour and they are hitting cities such as Kansas City, Chicago, St. Louis, Columbus, Austin, New York, Oklahoma City, Seattle and Dallas. They will be sharing the stage with bands such as I Prevail, From Ashes to New, Five Finger Death Punch, Breaking Benjamin and Nothing More.
