Daedelus Release 19th Studio Album Taut

Daedelus kicked up a storm with electro set on the Cosmic Meadows

Alfred Darlington, the Los Angeles producer who goes by his stage name, Daedelus, has recently released his 19th album titled Taut. The record was released on his imprint Magical Properties and coincides with a U.S tour that he will embark on with fellow Brainfeeder artist Lapalux.

Taut is a sixteen track album that features acclaimed trombonist Jonah Levine, Portland-based singer Sara Z, multi-instrumentalist Goodnight Nody, newly signed Alpha Pup artist Niels Broos, and The Breathing Effect’s Echo Go Away.

In a press statement, Daedelus had this to say about the new album; “Tightly wound. Loose knots. I am tied to the mast of an imperiled ship (music as business) and am struggling against these confines, but also am the one holding the rope taut. Less poetically, it is the bowing in an orchestra, chords on piano, harpsichords, slap bass, and guitar strings. Needed tension to get the tuning right. This is the way I’ve been dealing with the world at large, relinquishing by making so much music.”

When performing Taut, Daedelus will have a live experience that will use the new mechanical concept named Panoptes. Created with the help of the Los Angeles visual company Incite, those attending the concert can expect a “special treat” that taps into the meaning of Taut with spinning rope, creating volumetric visuals around Daedelus as he performs.

Taut is available both digitally and physically. For more information, click here.
