Anohni Shares “Miracle Now” As Part of An Installation Piece

When art and music come together, it is something to behold. For the visual artist, Anohni, she is combining both to express a new exhibit being this week. She has released her new song “Miracle Now” as part of her sound and video installation and retrospective opening at Kunsthal Nikolaj in Copenhagen Friday, May 25th.

The video was posted on Anohni’s official Facebook page along with a statement that reads, “The video stars Page in the original production of MIRACLE NOW. Page, a trans-surrealist NYC icon, starred in my plays in the 1990s. She was a constant source of joy and inspiration,” she writes.

The song clocks in at about a minute and 40 seconds and yet the track is an emotional piece of music with just a piano accompanying Anohni’s vocals. The accompanying video features archival footage from a 1996 stage production put on by Anohni and staring trans-surrealist icon Page. The art installation piece will run through August 5th and will present Anohni’s installations, sculptures, and archives in her first major solo exhibition in Denmark.

Anohni is a singer, composer and visual artist formerly known as Antony, the lead singer of the American art-pop group Antony and the Johnsons. She released her breakout debut album, HOPELESSNESS back in 2016 and last year, the English singer released her Paradise Ep. She also paid tribute to The Cranberries’ Dolores O’Riodran with a cover of “No Need to Argue” earlier this year.
