Photos: The Kills Live at House of Vans, Brooklyn, NY

The Kills performed at the House of Vans in Brooklyn, NY this week as part of a larger skate clinic, the Girls Skate Jam. Skateboarders were welcomed to show off their skills and onlookers could enjoy food, drinks or shop at some local vendors. But at 9 pm, the Kills took the stage and performed just over an hour of a few old favorites, a fierce selection from their latest album, Ash and Ice, and a couple of recently released covers: “List of Demands” (Saul Williams) and “Steppin’ Razor” (Peter Tosh). Despite a few sound glitches, Jamie Hince and Alison Mosshart powered through highlights “Hard Habit to Break,” “Doing It to Death,” an extended fuzzed-out groove on “Pots and Pans” and the heartfelt plea of “Echo Home.”
