Metal band Sleep has released a new 16-minute track titled “Leagues Beneath,” track 59 of the year-long Adult Swim Singles program, showcasing great music from multiple genres. The new track comes shortly after the release of their critically acclaimed The Sciences, the band’s first album in 20 years. Mxdwn listed the album as “High Fidelity” and stated, “It’s exactly what Sleep needed to release and honestly, real Sleep fans surely understand that.” The band surprised released the album on 4/20 on all streaming platforms with them teasing new music in July 2017. They are also set to play at the Muddy Roots Festival in August in Cookeville, Tennessee. High on Fire, X, Neurosis, Meat Puppets, TSOL, Oxbow, Mondo Generator, Wovenhand, and Fu Manchu are also set to play.
With Adult Swim’s great taste in music, the company will be hosting its first annual music festival this year. The Adult Swim Festival will take place October 6-7 in Downtown Los Angeles with both musical and comedy acts. Run The Jewels, Thundercat, Wavves, Zola Jesus, and Hannibal Buress are set to perform.
