Life of Agony was formed in the summer of 1989 by singer Mina Caputo bassist Alan Robert and guitarist Joey Z. The band released their debut album River Runs Red in 1993 after being signed to Roadrunner Records. River Runs Red was followed by their second album, Ugly in 1995. Vocalist Caputo departed the band following the release of Soul Searching Sun in 1997. The band decided to split up in 1999. The original line-up of Life of Agony reunited for two sold-out shows at New York’s Irving Plaza on January 3rd and 4th, 2003. The reunion resulted in several more shows and appearances on European festivals, as well as the recording of 2005’s Broken Valley, the band’s first new album since 1997. The band split again in 2012 and reunited in 2014 and released A Place Where There’s No More Pain, their first studio album in 12 years, on April 28, 2017.
According to the prp Bonanza High School teacher, Leslie McGourty, made terrorist threats concerning Life Of Agony‘s planned live show at the Beauty Bar this past Saturday, May 26th, in Las Vegas, NV. The band’s show was cancelled. McGourty, had made threats towards the concert in a text conversation to her friend, who notified the police about McGourty’s plans. McGourty was arrested by authorities last Wednesday, May 16th, and she is currently out on bail and placed on paid administrative leave.
