American rock band Alice in Chains has released five studio albums, three EPs, three live albums, four compilations, two DVDs, 31 music videos and 29 singles since their formation in 1987. The band is known for being a part of the grunge music scene and the unique vocal style, vocals between Staley and Cantrell being harmonized. The band’s most recent album was, The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here, released five years ago in 2013.
American singer, songwriter and musician Chris Cornell was born Christopher John Boyle on July 20, 1964 in Seattle, Washington. Cornell was best known for his role as lead vocalist in bands Soundgarden and Audioslave. He also had numerous solo works and soundtrack contributions since 1991. Cornell was also founder and frontman of band Temple of the Dog. Cornell tragically died on May 18, 2017 by taking his own life.
According to the prp Alice in Chains paid tribute to Cornell by closing their set with covers of Soundgarden‘s “Hunted Down” and “Boot Camp” during their performance at this year’s Rock on the Range Festival in Columbus, Ohio. Tool played a headlining set at Rock on the Range Festival in Columbus, Ohio dedicated to the friends and family of Chris Cornell. Last year Cornell was set to headline the Rock on the Range Festival with Soundgarden before he tragically passed last year.
According to mxdwn in early May this year Alice in Chains announced a video for their new song “The One You Know,” the first new song the band has released in five years. The song was accompanied by a video that was directed by Adam Mason. The track is a follow up to their 2013 album, The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here. Nick Raskulinecz produced the new track as well as the albums Dinosaurs Here and Black Gives Way to Blue. The band is set to release a new album this summer, the first one in five years, which lines up with the dates for the band’s tour this summer.
