English electronic duo Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory, known as Goldfrapp, released the new version of their song “Ocean”. The new version of the song includes a collaboration with Dave Gahan of Depeche Mode. The duet with Gahan is on the band’s new album Silver Eye: Deluxe Edition. The album is set to be released this summer on July 6th. New artwork and a bonus disc of remixes and alternate on the two-disc set. One of the songs on the new album is an unreleased remix of “Anymore” from Will Gregory.
The duo from London formed Goldfrapp in 1999. The band released their debut studio album Felt Mountain was released in 2000. Black Cherry, the band’s second album, which included glam rock and synthpop sounds was released in 2003. Their third album Supernature continued the themes from the second album of dance-oriented sound. Supernature took the band further into dance music. The band released three more albums Seventh Tree, Headfirst and Tales of Us in the 2000’s. In March 2017 2017 the band released their seventh studio album, Silver Eye.
According to mxdwn Silver Eye as an album is a work of impressionism. The tracks of the album have a feeling similar to that of an 80’s dance vibe. The band will be going on tour this summer, close to the release date of their new album Silver Eye: Deluxe Edition.
UPDATE (6/7): Goldfrapp has released a video for their new version of “Ocean,” which features a guest appearance from Dave Gahan of Depeche Mode. The video was directed by Goldfrapp herself and stars Gahan. The video was filmed in multiple locations in Spain, adding stunning visuals to an incredible song.
