Angel Olsen and Jim James Cover Sonny & Cher at David Lynch’s Festival of Disruption NYC

Jim James of My Morning Jacket and folk darling Angel Olsen gave the fans at Festival of Disruption special performance this weekend. The festival which was put on by acclaimed director David Lynch happened this past weekend in Brooklyn and featured performances by Animal Collective, Flying Lotus, Jon Hopkins and many more.

James and Olsen collaborated on the second night of the New York festival for a cover of the 1964 song by Sonny & Cher, “Baby Don’t Go.” The two have shared the stage before as they performed Olsen’s songs “Sister” and “Those Were the Days” at the 2017 Newport Folk Festival.

James is set to release a new solo album called Uniform Distortion on June 29th via ATO and shared the lead track called “Just Fool” which was accompanied by a music video. The album is the follow up to 2016s Eternally Even and his third studio album overall. My Morning Jacket does not plan on touring again until 2019.

Olsen announced a string of summer tour dates starting in June and it will be her first headlining dates in North America since 2014. The folk songstress from St. Louis, Missouri released My Woman in 2016 to critical acclaim and fan praise.
