The actors of Netflix’s 1980’s nostalgia hit Stranger Things are only playing a group of friends who fight evil monsters from another dimension possibly discovered by the shady U.S. government. In fact, Finn Wolfhard has been avidly working towards a solid music career with his indie rock band Calpurnia. The band formed last year in 2017 in the cold metropolis of Vancouver. The members are Finn Wolfhard on vocals and guitar, Malcolm Craig on drums, Ayla Tesler-Mabe on guitar, and Jack Anderson on bass.
Their debut came out as early as March of 2018 when Calpurnia released their first single “City Boy.” In April, the band announced that they will have an extended play EP titled Scout, which would see light in June this summer. Also with their EP announcement came their second single which they named “Louie.”
On May 18th, Calpurnia released their third single off the Scout EP on Youtube, which features a rendering of a modern day samurai watching a Greyhound bus fly off in the distance. Their new single “Greyhound” begins with some open-style chords going through a small progression. The bass plays alongside next, introducing its voice to our ears as we get aquainted with the new song. And playing along with this one-after-the-other theme, the drums patiently wait its turn as it finally joins in at the end of the bass line.
Wolfhard starts to sing about a trip, true or not I am not sure, that he took to Seattle on a Greyhound bus. A solo slides in as one of the guitarists give us a little shred so as to lead into the next part of the song. Listen to the whole song below.
