Modeselektor Return with First New Song In Three Years “Kalif Storch”

Modeselektor, the pioneering German electronic music duo, synthesize intense beats and penetrating bass with the release of their new song, “Kalif Storch.” The song comes following the group’s three year hiatus and is, according to XLR8R, taken from the upcoming compilation Modeselektion Vol. 04.

The new compilation, available June 1 through Monkeytown Records x Ninja Tune, features 17 exclusive tracks. Additionally, the compilation features artists including Skee Mask, rRoxymore, Solid Blake, Sarah Farina, Peder Mannerfelt, Vatican Shadow and Actress.

Modeselektor, which consists of Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary, formed in 1992 following the fall of the Berlin Wall. The cold war thaw created a dynamic environment from which the group formed. Modeselektor has said of the time: “After the Wall came down, everywhere in Germany and especially East Germany there was a lot of chaos, anarchy.”

The group has said of the new compilation: “The choice of tracks is influenced by our thirst for effective dance music. After almost four years of touring with Moderat, we really felt the urge to dedicate ourselves again to what made us.”

The June 1 release of Modeselektion Vol. 04 will be available as a two-disc CD, digital album and four 12’ Eps, or as a limited 4×12’ slipcase. Check out the new track “Kalif Storch” here:
