Clutch is set to release a new album in September 2018. The group has been teasing their new music for a while. The wait is over. Well, almost. The Book of Bad Decisions is on its way. On their previous tour, they debuted songs from the new album, “Gimme the Keys,” “Spirit of ’76,” and “Vision Quest.”
They also debuted “Gimme the Keys.” This song begins with short guitar strums that catch the listener’s attention. This song aims to tell a story of a missing microphone from a show they did a few years back. The song creates space for the fans to groove and bust a move.
“Spirit of ’76” opens with a guitar line and rough vocals. “Vision Quest,” a single from The Book Of Bad Decisions was written in January. The band performed the new release at a concert in Berkeley’s Greek Theatre. They said at the show, “this song is about partying with strangers.” The song is an up tempo American Rock song with chord progressions that are reminiscent of American Rock from way back in the day. The song about partying with strangers comes at a great time with summer on the horizon and a new album dropping soon in the fall.
This album, recorded in Nashville, Tennessee, was probably a surprise to fans, as it comes after their last release three years ago in 2015. Available for pre-order, the album includes tracks:
