Tool’s Highly Anticipated New Album Reportedly Features Only Songs Over 10 Minutes

Earlier this year some members of the band Tool offered intimate sessions with the band. The sessions included discussions with the band’s instrumentalists about the songwriting and performance process that they went through. At the end of the sessions there was also a performance or jam by the band.

According to stereogum each song on the band’s new, untitled album will be at least ten minutes long. The untitled album will be following up their previous 10,000 Days album. Most songs from the 10,000 Days album were about six minutes in length each, making ten minute songs not shocking to fans of Tool.

The new album does not have a release date set for it yet. Fans at the intimate sessions with the instrumentalists from Tool were able to hear updates about the album and a modular synth jam “with some politically charged vocal sample” that will also appear on the album. Drums tracks are finished, with presumably other instruments and vocals on the way next.
