Power-pop rockers Kitten have announced a new EP, Pink Champagne, which is set to drop on June 1st via RED Music. The four-song EP will feature their recently released smash “I Did It” along with three other new songs. In advance of the album’s release, Kitten has released a new song: the ’80s pop bombast of “Strange Embrace.” The song blends plenty of classic new wave sounds along with some supremely catchy hooks, with crisp and tight production values. As usual, singer Chloe Chaidez really shines on this track, with her soaring vocals really standing out. “Strange Embrace” manages to do something incredible: balanced modern and classic sounds without sounding like a total ’80s rip off. There are just enough interesting sonic embellishments and impossibly cool synth lines to give the song its own unique sonic character.
Since their formation in 2009, Kitten has cultivated one of the most devoted fanbases in music, with the group releasing some stellar recordings, especially their self-titled debut album in 2014. Chloe Chaidez has been at the forefront of the group the entire time, honing her impeccable voice and songwriting talent, making the band one of the must-see live acts out there today.
Kitten will be touring around the US this summer with the likes of Mainland and Blue October.
