The Orb Examine Everyday London Life in New Video for Funky New Song “Rush Hill Road” Featuring Hollie Cook

The Orb, pioneering English electronic group, have released a fresh song, “Rush Hill Road,” off their new album No Sound Are Out of Bounds, due out June 22 on the label Cooking Vinyl. The new track, featuring reggae star Hollie Cook, incorporates Cook’s smooth and buoyant vocals and pulsing beat that deftly synthesizes house, dubstep and reggae.  The group’s new album takes a new direction by focusing on the sounds of a collective ensemble. According to Rock All Photographs, the new album features Alex Paterson, Fehlmann, Youth, Roger Eno, Hollie Cook, and Guy Pratt (Pink Floyd) and bassist Jah Wobble, creating a rich and layered sound.

The video for “Rush Hill Road,” executes a timely analysis of modern life by speeding up scenes of urban life and juxtaposing it with a gliding, vibrant sky. Contrasting natural with synthetic coupled with breakneck cuts creates a dizzying effect that captures the modern aesthetic.

The Orb also announced they will perform a 30th anniversary classics set at ORBFEST—the group’s UK festival June 23rd. Check out the new song and video below:
