Alice in Chains, have released a new song “The One You Know,” their first new track in five years, accompanied by a video—directed by Adam Mason. According to Blabbermouth, the track comes from the follow up to their 2013 album, The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here, and is produced by Nick Raskulinecz who also produced The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here and Black Gives Way to Blue. The 2018 record is due out later this year (possibly summer) and was recorded at Henson Studios in Los Angeles.
The new track, “The One You Know,” features the band’s signature sound including heavy, growling guitars with gravelly yet smooth vocals. In Metal Sucks, frontman Cantrell describes the Chains sound: “We’re lot of things…I don’t know quite what the mixture is, but there’s definitely metal, blues, rock and roll, maybe a touch of punk. The metal part will never leave, and I never want it to.” Cantrell recently talked about the new album with Guitar World, saying, “There’s some really ugly stuff, some real beautiful stuff, some weirdo trippy shit.”
The accompanying video to the song, “The One You Know,” features a psychedelic look with the band fervently rocking and offers an opposing red and green color scheme, with grainy visuals. The band is set to tour this summer. Check out the video and tour dates below:
