Guns N Roses Tease Appetite for Destruction Announcement with Countdown Clock (UPDATED)

Over 30 years after they released their groundbreaking 1987 debut record, the one and only Guns N’ Roses seems to be hinting that they will be giving their fans, and the world, what they have always wanted: a proper Appetite for Destruction reunion tour.

Now, to be fair, nothing has been confirmed as of yet, but the signs (literally) seem to pointing in that direction. Just yesterday, the website gnr.fm was discovered, seeming to indicate something related to the band’s classic debut record. Now, the site has been updated with a timer counting down to May 3, 9:00 PM PDT, over a message reading “DESTRUCTION IS COMING”. Fans have been justifiably throwing themselves onto the hype train.

Billboards sporting a similar message have also been discovered by fans in the Camden area of London. What’s especially exciting, however, is the fact that all five skulls seen on the original Appetite for Destruction album art, one for each member, could be found on these billboards. Some fans have speculated that this could mean that original drummer Steven Adler and guitarist Izzy Stradlin could be joining in on the reunion.

If this were the case, it would be quite the turnaround for Stradlin. Adler had performed with the band in a handful of shows throughout their reunion tour that started April 2016 and will be continuing later this year. However, Stradlin had publicly distanced himself from the tour, stating that the band didn’t want to “split the loot equally.” Perhaps Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan have decided that sharing the riches was better in the long run.

That being said, it is entirely possible that this is not a tour at all. Perhaps all this is just a lead up to Appetite For Destruction being reissued in a special deluxe edition with plenty of bonus material, given that gnr.fm also features an excerpt from a rare track titled “Shadow of Your Love.”

UPDATE (5/3): Guns N Roses have made an announcement today and instead of a tour, it’s a massive box set to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Appetite for Destruction.
