George Lewis Jr who goes by his stage name, Twin Shadow has shared a new video today made in partnership with The Fader. The video for the new track titled “Saturdays,” has Lewis Jr performing the critically-acclaimed song in an intimate gathering. The song is taken from Lewis Jr’s fourth album, Caer (pronounced: ka-air), which is available to purchase now via Warner Bros. Records / Reprise.
The visuals for “Saturdays” fits perfectly with the song. Here we have Lewis Jr sitting in the dark with lights illuminating him from the front. He is surrounded by fans who stare up at him with admiration as he strums away at his guitar while singing his synth-filled pop song. His lyrics are striking, “Making my chrome heart say / “Know what could make me stay?” / “Know what could make me sit?” / Maybe we’re a fault line.” The simple and yet intimate setting pulls listeners into the music that reminds us of those artists we have lost along the way like Petty and Prince.
Not only did the singer-songwriter who hails from the Dominican Republic release a new track but also revealed some new shows that are happening later this year. To support the release of his new album, Caer, the indie rocker is adding additional tour dates for the fall. These are in addition to those spring dates that included appearances next to Beck and alt-J as well as those sold out shows in San Francisco and New York, and an in-store performance at Amoeba Records in Los Angeles on Record Store Day.
